A program that makes a difference
The KIDS program of North Dakota is an early-intervention service providing home-based services that focus on the family, free of charge. We help identify learning opportunities and provide support, instruction, information and resources so parents and caregivers can help their child (from birth to age 3) learn and develop to his or her full potential.
Who is eligible?
Eligibility for the KIDS program is based on a comprehensive developmental evaluation that is completed by a Speech/Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist or Special Education professional.
Services may be available for children with developmental delays in the areas of language, cognitive, physical, social or self-help skills, or whose development is related to a high-risk medical diagnosis that is commonly associated with developmental delays.

Examples of Care
Phillip and Tania’s two year old daughter is on the autism spectrum. The KIDS Program provides the parents with home-based support, instruction, information and resources. Each week the specialist who visits the family provides a home activity report filled with observations, suggestions and activities. Through many of these activities, Phillip and Tania’s child is learning communication while developing socially, cognitively and emotionally.Ashley and Jonathan have a five-month old boy with Down Syndrome. The KIDS Program has been working with the child since he was just a few months old, helping him reach milestones in his physical and cognitive development. He’s achieved motor skills such as sitting, rolling and head control- and most recently during “Tummy Time, ” began propping himself up with his arms.
