As an organization the Center provides information, care and examples from which to learn — all the while listening to each family and crafting unique plans to fit each person.
Fear, self-doubt and second-guessing are natural feelings that parents may experience as they make the decision to incorporate the Anne Carlsen Center into their family’s lives. The Center realizes the importance families play in the growth and development of each child. To that end, families are encouraged to be activie particpants in the management of of care.
Our faculty and staff will use communication devices to help students and cleints communicate with family members. These range from high-tech items (Internet, Cameras, Telephone, E-mail) the common (Snail mail). Likewise, parents and guardians are welcome to contact faculty or staff to learn about the progress of their children.
At the ACC Campus, many families enjoy having their children home for weekends, extended holidays, and summer vacations. For those students who are medically unable to leave the Center, families have access to the Sunroom to visit and make memories. The sunroom has been the site of many family gatherings over the years, including birthday celebrations and holiday dinners.
